FAQs
Are there aid stations on course and what is provided?
All information about aid station can be found HERE. Aid stations for 2024 will again be "cupless", however, we have made some changes to ensure a positive and safe event for participants while maintaining a minimum environmental footprint. You can read more about our strategies to achieve this goal HERE.
Can I use headphones while running?
In 2024, we will allow runners to use either bone conductions earphones such as "Aftershokz" or a single earbud. This is to ensure the safety of participants and the general public on the footpaths during the event.
Is the course open to the public?
Yes. As it was in previous years, the paths on which the Cairns 50 is held will be open to the general public during the event. Although there is minimal public use during the times of the event, participants will need to be aware of pedestrians, cyclists and dogs.
How do I get to Glenoma Park and where can I park?
During registration, you can purchase bus transport to and from the event venue for both Saturday and Sunday. If driving to the venue, there will be no parking available at Glenoma Park itself. Parking will be available at a nearby park within a few hundred metres walk.
What will be provided at the event precinct during the event?
On Saturday, the Family Fun Day will include kids activities such as face painting, jumping castles and more. There will be food and drink available too. Saturday afternoon will also include the CAIRNS ENDURANCE SPORT EXPO with stall holders from around Cairns and Queensland.
On Sunday, there will be food and drink available in the event precinct including coffee and breakfast.
